As with most things, there are potential risks from receiving acupuncture such as, slight pain or discomfort at the site of the needle insertion, infection, bruises, weakness, numbing, fainting, nausea, and aggravation of problematic systems existing prior to acupuncture treatment.

Unusual risks of acupuncture would include, spontaneous miscarriage, nerve damage, and organ puncture, including lung puncture (pneumothorax). All risks associated with acupuncture are clearly outlined to you before receiving the treatment and our consent form for acupuncture treatment needs to be signed beforehand.
